2dB(A) Rail Side (2.5m) Noise Reduction
Although only 5 dampers were installed, 2 dB(A) noise reduction is already achieved, measured 2.5m from the noisy side of rail (facing the rail without dampers). It is estimated that 7dB(A) in-saloon noise could be reduced if installed fully5 dB reduction at the noise peak of 800Hz.
6dB(A) overall rail vibration reduction
The vibration energy remains in the rail due to isolation from soft baseplate and cause a 400Hz vibration peak. Q Damper provided 10dB reduction at critical frequency of 400Hz and 800Hz.
